Features: Water pumps made with LEGO and pneumatic elements
These mechanical models show how you can pump water with LEGO pneumatic elements. If you want to build something similar please remember that the pneumatic elements are made for air and the water can harm the pneumatic elements. Furthermore, it only works well with the pneumatic cylinders which have a piston made from plastic. All the other cylinders with metal piston have too much friction to pump water efficiently. Take also into account: If the pneumatic valve is open to one side and middle port is connected to second port, then the third port is open to the atmosphere. In this situation at the third port normally air from the retraction cylinder chamber is escaping from the system. Exactly there, you can lose water and this is why the valve is “leaking” (In fact it works as intended).
